Miriam Lyle

Promoted by the founder of The Story Factory. Miriam has a Bachelor’s degree in Women Studies and a Master’s in International Development Cooperation, Expert in Education for Solidarity and specialized studies in project monitoring and evaluation. She has over 16 years of experience carrying out international development programs and training courses in project cycle management in both Africa and Latin America, management and training of local and international volunteer programs, as well as Education for Development and Global Citizenship projects in schools and universities in Spain, running workshops and courses aimed at students and teachers.

Projects that guarantee access to health services

With a focus on maternal-child healthcare and capacity building: construction of medical facilities, provision of equipment and medicines, awareness-raising campaigns and community health education, nutrition and healthy habits in Kenya and Guatemala.

Projects that guarantee inclusive and equitable quality education

For vulnerable children and youths (marginalized communities, indigenous and nomadic peoples, communities affected by HIV-AIDS, etc.) from early childhood education to secondary and vocational training, through scholarship programs, construction of educational infrastructures (classrooms, libraries and resource centers, labs, etc.), equipment and learning materials, water and sanitation programs, teacher training and family and community awareness in Kenya and Guatemala.

Projects to empower girls, adolescents, and women

Through education and adult literacy programs, productive and agricultural initiatives, and capacity building in the areas of leadership and participation, sexual and reproductive health, reducing the practice of Female Genital Mutilation, sex education, and Human Rights training in Kenya and Guatemala.

Projects that guarantee access to clean water and sanitation

For vulnerable communities in Kenya (Lake Victoria and East Pokot) together with capacity building to ensure long-term impacts: water wells, installation of tanks, rural latrinization, awareness-raising campaigns, and specific health and hygiene training.

Capacity building on Project Cycle Management, the Human Rights-Based Approach, Agenda 2030, volunteering and creativity

With local organizations through workshops and continued consultation for improved response capacity to the needs of their communities; also social theater workshops, photography, and drawing to enhance the participation and leadership of children and adolescents in their communities in Kenya and Guatemala. Promoting local and international volunteering through coordination, accompaniment and training.

Socio-economic studies and workshops with men, women, boys, and girls, integrating creative elements that explore gender roles and relationships in communities that create barriers to girls’ and womens’ empowerment, plus analysis of existing regulations and the Human Rights framework within a specific sector.

Workshops and creative courses to improve awareness-raising strategies and volunteering

Through creative tools, artistic expression and collaborative experimentation to promote the generation of new ideas, identify, create, produce, and empower so that educational messages and volunteer actions have a greater impact in local and global communities.
