Conference to rethink menstruation. Not a sex ed class, it’s a lesson on Human Rights and equality. To break the silence and taboo and build a positive relationship with periods, menstruation is discussed from different points of view: personal dimension, mass media and consumerism, experiences and testimonies from around the globe and the international social movements they inspire.
Questions that will be addressed: Why is there an International Menstrual Hygiene Day? What would happen if men had periods? Why do girls around the world not attend school or drop out because of their periods? What role does publicity and the media play in our concept of menstruation?
